We are excited to announce that Dixon Appointments has been appointed to the University of Melbourne’s preferred supplier panel. You may be aware that the University of Melbourne has recently updated its supplier arrangements for Recruitment and Contingent Labour Services.
Dixon Appointments was strategically chosen as part of an initiative to align with premium suppliers, with a mission to provide the University of Melbourne community access to the highest quality recruitment and payroll services present in the Victorian market.

Differentiating ourselves from the crowd, Dixon Appointment’s success is about prioritising aspects of recruitment that we want to do exceptionally well. For us, this includes:

Delivering best practice, evidence backed recruitment services. Though there isn’t as much science as we’d like to see in recruitment, we use General Mental Ability assessments and structured, behavioural interviews so we can best predict performance.

Positively impacting the Victorian community; we’re proud to be a carbon-neutral, locally-owned entity with a reputation for upholding ethical standards in recruitment.
Let’s be honest. We aren’t experts at everything.
We tried being all things to all stakeholders once, but it didn’t end well. So now we try to be up front about the things that present greater challenges compared to others in our industry. For example:

We’re not so great at sourcing talent for industrial, manufacturing, clinical and warehousing roles.

We don’t perform so well in transactional relationships. If we don’t know what’s important to you as a professional and as a leader in your department then we may not add as much value as you’d like.

Matching resumes to Position Descriptions. Stick with us here; we match real people to real work, in unique environments. The “best resume” is rarely the best person for the job. And whose position description accurately reflects what it is that makes them successful?
